Technology has always been a major focus at our school, where it continues to drive innovation in the delivery of literacy and numeracy programs.
The school utilises the Apple Mac OS X platform across the school. Every classroom is fitted with an interactive whiteboard and iPads are used by all classes, K-6. Apple MacBooks are in use within classrooms, where students collaborate and share their knowledge to create exciting projects from podcasts, eBooks, slideshows and movies, to printed stories and other displays.
Students in Stage 3 (Years 5 and 6) are provided with HP Chromebooks. The Google suite of applications are easily accessible using the Chromebooks and students are able to save their work and access it from home through Google. Through Google Classroom teachers are able to to upload work for their students to access both at home and at school.
Port Kembla Public School is committed to providing students with opportunities to engage in meaningful, challenging and stimulating learning activities, which is greatly assisted through the daily use of technology.
